TOP STORY: Man Utd to offer Nkunku a pay rise

Manchester United could offer RB Leipzig Christophe Nkunku a big pay rise with the Daily Star reporting that the Premier League side could triple their wages.

Sources have previously told ESPN that caretaker manager Ralf Rangnick has urged United to step up their interest in the Leipzig maestro.

United reportedly spotted the 24-year-old in Leipzig’s league win over Bochum last weekend, in which Nkunku scored the game’s only goal in the 82nd minute.

Nkunku has a £62million release clause in his contract, having emerged as one of Europe’s emerging talents by registering an incredible 25 goals and 13 assists in 37 games in all competitions this term.

Rangnick and Nkunku have worked together in the past, with the player joining Leipzig in 2019 from Paris Saint-Germain.

Although the Red Devils are likely to face competition for the Frenchman’s signature, The Daily Star say Nkunku would ‘jump at the chance’ of reuniting with Rangnick at Old Trafford.
