Manchester United mercato: Lingard would think about leaving

The England attacking midfielder, who did not play his club’s Premier League opener last weekend, could leave before the end of the transfer window.

Jesse Lingard, Manchester United, MU

Returning this summer from a six-month loan to West Ham, where he regained his football (9 goals and 5 assists in 19 games), Jesse Lingard was on course to make the season at Manchester United, a year before the end of his tenure with the Red Devils. But according to The Times, it could ultimately be otherwise. Indeed, the 28-year-old Englishman has to face fierce competition for offensive positions, with Edinson Cavani, Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford or Daniel James. Not yet used this season, Jesse Lingard could ask to leave if his playing time does not change against Southampton, in the Premier League, this weekend.

While the player has only one year of contract left, Manchester United should not retain him in the event of a willingness to leave. The British media does not cite for the moment any club potentially interested in the services of Jesse Lingard, who can evolve in the center, on the right and on the left.
