Karius new number 2 goalkeeper for Newcastle
The summer transfer window closed its doors several days ago. But players free of any contract can still engage with the club of their choice. Among them is Loris Karius. After making himself infamous with his two huge dumplings in the Champions League final in 2018, the German had been loaned by Liverpool for three seasons in a row, and had not played a single game last season. But after the end of his contract with the Reds, he is preparing to find a challenge in England.
According Fabrizio Romano, Karius will soon become a new Newcastle player. The Italian journalist claims that the 29-year-old goalkeeper has even already signed his contract with the Magpies. He signed up for a short-term contract. It will therefore not have taken him long to return to the Premier League after the end of his experience on the banks of the Mersey.

Karius will therefore become the new number 2 goalkeeper for the Magpies. At least momentarily. Because it will compensate for the injury of Karl Darlow, who was hit in the ligaments of the ankle during training not long ago. After this incident, Newcastle were looking for a new replacement goalkeeper, as Martin Dúbravka is no longer there. The Slovak packed his bags this summer to join Manchester United.
Karius will therefore have to replace Nick Pope, the holder who arrived during the last transfer window, if the latter is injured in the next matches.
