Lille: Ounas, the beautiful pickaxe

Back in France after a mixed experience in Naples, Adam Ounas is already taking his ease in Lille. Much appreciated by Paulo Fonseca, the Algerian winger is making a more than interesting debut with the Mastiffs.

Lille: Ounas, the beautiful pickaxe

Ounas delighted against Toulouse.

Adam Ounas (26) is back in France. Five years after his departure from Bordeaux for Naples, the Algerian winger, who passed through Nice in 2019-2020, decided to return to Ligue 1 to (finally) launch his career definitively.

Recruited for 3 million euros by Lille, the Fennec has every intention of using his mixed experience in Italy to make up for lost time. And for its first steps in the North, it is clear that this collaboration can make sparks.

Very interesting first steps

In just two and a half games, the 2019 African champion has already put Lille fans in the pocket. Launched in place of Edon Zhegrova, injured, against Montpellier (1-3), for his first with the Mastiffs, Ounas had made a very clean copy on the hour of play disputed at Mosson. He then continued with a first consistent start on the lawn of Olympique de Marseille (2-1), where he was involved in the goal of Ismaily, putting a broth Leonardo Balerdi, forced to leave after only half a hour.

For his first appearance at the Decathlon Arena against Toulouse (2-1) on Saturday, Ounas made his presentations with success. Untenable in his corridor, he still made his vis–vis, Issiaga Sylla, live an ordeal this time. Catching the ball, body play, one-touch play, the player trained in Gironde showed quite incredible technical accuracy. And what about his first goal from Lille, a superb recovery from the pivot point at the penalty spot to offer victory to his new team?

Fonseca savors

Rated 7.5/10 and voted man of the match by the Maxifoot editorial staff, Ounas logically pleased his coach. He brings one important thing to the team: his individual talent. He brings different things to our game, he is unpredictable, very good technically, in one against one, explained the Portuguese manager to journalists. But he is not yet 100% physically because he has not played much in recent months. When he will be better in this area, he will be able to bring us even more , rejoiced Paulo Fonseca. LOSC fans are impatient.
