Rouen’s awakening on the transfer market was late but it is making noise. After the American winger, Greg Squires, the Dragons have just achieved another great catch: defender Mark Flood (1m86; 88 kg).
At 35, the Canadian has known just about all the prestigious hockey leagues: a first North American career punctuated by 39 matches in NHL and more than 400 in AHL, the minor league. Then three seasons of KHL, the Russian league, before round trips between Austria and Finland.
Late but assumed recruitment
This late recruitment is an assumed choice of the Rouen leaders. The health situation due to the coronavirus pandemic, the uncertainties of the presence on the North American player transfer market (season not ended, difficulty in getting around) but also the late dates of resumption of European Championships have made it free to many foreign players who want to secure their year in Europe. And Rouen is one of the good reception ports.
