Ligue 1 – PSG-Nice: Lionel Messi presented his seventh Ballon d’Or at the Parc des Princes

The Parc des Princes was able to admire Lionel Messi’s seventh Ballon d’Or this Wednesday evening, before PSG-Nice. In addition to the Argentinian, the Italian Gianluigi Donnarumma was honored by the PSG, for having won Monday the Yachine Trophy which rewards the best goalkeeper of the year. The two players displayed their prices on a small platform installed on the lawn, crossed out with the slogan « Paris Golden City » (« Paris city in gold »). This was also readable on the giant poster overlooking the VIP entrance to the Parc des Princes, as well as at the entrance to the store.

While Messi and Donnarumma said a few words at the speaker’s microphone, the Parisian supporters chanted their names. A fireworks display organized by the club concluded the short ceremony. The « Pulga » on Monday won their seventh Ballon d’Or, a record, but without winning the unanimity of some observers who preferred the Polish striker of Bayern Robert Lewandowski. Both the Argentinean and the Italian are starting at the start of this shock of the 16th day of Ligue 1, opposing the leader to third in the standings.
