Ligue 1: Olivier Cloarec new executive president of Rennes


Stade Rennais FC will soon have a new executive president. In a statement on Tuesday, the Breton club indicates that Olivier Cloarec was appointed to this position from June 1. The news was announced on Tuesday morning to all employees. A major change in the organization chart of the Breton club which therefore sees its deputy general manager officially taking over the functions occupied until now by Nicolas Holveck, affected by cancer detected last year and who must devote himself to treating his illness.

After continuing to perform his duties, most often from a distance due to the care received in Monaco, Nicolas Holveck (50), who had been executive chairman since spring 2020 and the dismissal of Olivier Létang, “wanted to put himself temporarily withdrawn to devote himself to the treatment of the disease which he himself announced in March 2021”, specifies the press release.

Aged 48 and of Breton origin, Olivier Cloarec has been practicing football for 20 years, in Strasbourg and Brest in charge of marketing and communication, then in Vannes, Lorient and Dijon in management positions. Deputy General Manager since April 2021, he therefore becomes the new Executive Chairman – General Manager of Stade Rennais FC. Jacques Delanoë remains Chairman of the Board of Directors.
