The centerpiece of the unveiling was a life-size model of a bright red Ferrari F40, developed by the LEGO Group, the only such model in the world. The LEGO model required more than 3,800 hours of work and more than 350,000 LEGO elements from a team of master modelers. It is 4 m long, 2 m wide, 1.20m tall and weighs over 1,360 kg. The visual and permanent centerpiece of the attraction’s « garage », visitors can sit in the life-size model of the Ferrari F40 and have their photograph taken.

The LEGO® Ferrari Build and Race attraction lets visitors build, test and race their very own LEGO Ferrari. Inspired by fun Ferrari facts, racing history and rewards on display in the ‘garage’, young drivers can use their creativity as they hit the construction zone and try to build their own Ferrari car out of LEGO and race it on one of three test tracks, namely the test area, the steering test track and the speed test track. Each track offers guests different obstacles, challenges and a chance to set the fastest time.

Once visitors have fine-tuned their vehicle, they will drive to the racing area and use digital technology developed by Dimensional Innovations, a leader in immersive and engaging experiences, to digitally scan their car and race it virtually in order to achieve the best possible time. This fully customizable experience will allow visitors to digitally modify their LEGO vehicle down to engine size, tire specs, horsepower and aerodynamics, as well as customize the license plate and even add stickers .

Once on the ‘track’, the LEGO Ferrari Build and Race attraction is designed to be interactive and challenging as drivers must adapt to changing circuit conditions due to weather, wind speed and temperature . Guests will have three laps to set their best time using touch pads to give their car extra acceleration and overtake competitors on the straights. Families can join in the fun by checking out the overhead monitors providing an overview of the action and the leaderboards displaying the status of the races in progress and highlighting the day’s best results.

The journey continues in the DUPLO® construction zone where young guests have the chance to let their imaginations run wild and design their own creation from larger bricks. A member of the LEGO team will also be on hand to share fun Ferrari facts, racing history, and showcase themed LEGO racing gear and rewards.

The LEGO Ferrari Build and Race attraction is included in the price of admission to LEGOLAND California Resort. It joins other new additions to the fleet this year, including the all-new model of the SoFi Stadium in LEGO in MINILAND USA For LEGOLAND California Resort ticket prices, operating schedule and other information, please visit or call 760-918-LEGO (5346).
