For a few months Toyota has indicated that it wants to find new teams in the NASCAR Cup Series, from 2024, Legacy Motor Club will join the Japanese manufacturer. There will therefore be eight full-time Toyota cars in the NASCAR Cup Series, which is the highest since 2011.

Toyota is pleased to announce its partnership with the Legacy Motor Club team starting with the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season.

Everyone at Toyota is happy to make the Legacy Motor Club part of our family.

Jack Hollis, executive vice president of Toyota Motor North America

Maury (Gallagher) and I are excited about this partnership with Toyota and TRD starting in 2024. We admire and respect the level at which Toyota operates and look forward to forging a new legacy for the future. I will always be grateful to Chevrolet and all that we have accomplished together. I am so grateful that they took a chance on a California kid so long ago and proud that the history books will forever commemorate our success.

Jimmie Johnson

In 2023, Toyota celebrates its twentieth season in the NASCAR National Series. With nearly 600 victories, the Japanese manufacturer marks its arrival in NASCAR. Kyle Busch (2015 and 2019), as well as Martin Truex Jr. in 2017 helped Toyota win the drivers’ title in NASCAR’s premier division, while Toyota won the constructors’ title in 2016, 2017 and 2019.

We are honored and proud to welcome the Legacy Motor Club to our family. Jimmie Johnson and Maury Gallagher have impressed us with their long-term vision and commitment to building a championship-focused team. Most importantly, their character and values are aligned with ours and our current Cup partners, Joe Gibbs Racing and 23XI Racing. Of course we are also looking forward to reuniting with our old friends Erik Jones and Noah Gragson.

David Wilson, President of TRD USA

Noah Gragson has 47 races for Toyota with Kyle Busch Motorsports in Truck and Joe Gibbs Racing in XFINITY. As for Erik Jones, he became the first driver to win the rookie title in all three national series with Toyota. He also has two Cup victories for Toyota, at Daytona in July 2018, then at Darlington during the 2019 Southern 500.
