Lazio Roma held in check against Fiorentina
Lazio stuck. A week after the correction (4-0) inflicted on AC Milan, the Roman team failed to continue Sunday against Fiorentina, as part of the 20th day of the Italian Championship.
A surprising and opportunistic goal from Nicolo Casale from a corner allowed the locals to take the lead in the 8th minute of play. The Romans, with their advantage in the score, chose to wait for their opponent by maintaining a low block. Well in place and threatening on counter situations, they held the score until the break.
But when they returned from the locker room, Fiorentina equalized (49th) thanks to a beautiful curling shot from Nicolas Gonzalez’s left foot, after an action he himself had initiated. La Viola then pushed to take the lead, repeatedly bumping into the opposing goalkeeper or seeking a penalty, not awarded for simulation. More and more dominant, the Fiorentina players thought they had won the gong but Milenkovic’s recovery hit the bar (90 + 4th).
