Landeskog will miss the start of the Avalanche season

Landeskog has missed the final 23 games of the 2021-22 season after undergoing knee surgery on March 14. He returned to action in time for the start of the playoffs and had 22 points (11 goals, 11 assists) in 20 games to help Colorado win the Stanley Cup. The 29-year-old forward frequently skipped morning practices during the playoffs to give his knee a break.

Valery Nichushkin, who signed an eight-year contract on July 11, is not participating in on-ice activities in training camp due to a lower-body injury. Nichushkin had 52 points (25 goals, 27 assists) in 62 regular season games and 15 points (nine goals, six assists) in 20 playoff games last year.
