Lamborghini teams up with Iron Lynx to drive its Hypercar
On the occasion of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo final this weekend in Portimao, the Italian manufacturer announced its association with Iron Lynx for its LMDh program from 2024 in both WEC and IMSA. The Italian team will also be running Lamborghini Huracan GT3s from 2023 in these same Championships.
“As soon as we announced our intention to launch this LMDh program, it was clear to us that Iron Lynx was the perfect partner to take such an important step.said Stephan Winkelmann, the boss of Lamborghini. I am delighted to welcome him to the Lamborghini family. Over the years, Iron Lynx has proven to be a fast, strong and successful team, just like Lamborghini’s sports department. »
Iron Lynx will play the same role as Penske for Porsche or WRT for BMW, providing human, technical and technological support. The Italian LMDh, built around a Ligier chassis, will be equipped with a biturbo hybrid V8. Two drivers have so far been confirmed: Mirko Bortolotti and Andrea Caldarelli.
