La Liga MX wins skills competition

The skills competition between Major League Soccer (MLS) and Liga MX on Tuesday night ended in a dramatic victory for the Mexicans.

The Garber Circuit players were ahead to the very last event and only had to touch the midfield’s crossbar, but it was ultimately the La Liga MX players who managed to come back up the hill and hit the crossbar first.

It was Jonathan Rodriguez (Cruz Azul), who played the heroes for the all-star roster of Mexico’s top soccer league.

Remember that each circuit relied on eight athletes for this original competition presented at the Banc of California Stadium. The event was divided into five events: the shooting challenge, the “touch challenge”, volley crosses and retakes, the passing precision challenge and the crossbar challenge.

MLS was represented Raul Ruidiaz (Seattle Sounders), Nani (Orlando City SC), Ricardo Pepi (FC Dallas), Lucas Zelarayan (Crew of Columbus), Rodolfo Pizarro (Inter Miami FC), Diego Rossi (LAFC), Andre Blake (Philadelphia Union) and Matt Turner (New England Revolution).

The All-Star game between MLS and Liga MX takes place on Wednesday evening and will be broadcast on TVA Sports.
