In January, many African internationals will participate in the Africa Cup of Nations. A competition that does not do the business of many clubs, particularly Liverpool, which will be deprived of its attacking stars, the Egyptian Mohamed Salah and the Senegalese Sadio Mané.

Asked about the subject, Reds coach Jürgen Klopp described the CAN as a « small tournament ». After his team’s victory (2-0) in the Champions League against Porto on Wednesday, the German technician saw a journalist from the Ojbsport media reconsider this statement, while demanding an apology: « I think it’s an insult to the players, an insult to the fans, an insult to the inhabitants of the continent and I think you owe the continent an apology, ”the journalist called out.

In response, the 54-year-old man once again assures us that his interlocutor had misunderstood him: « I am not a native (of England), but if you want to misunderstand me, you can do it all. time. I know I wouldn’t think like that. I don’t understand why you thought it was honest.  » The next CAN will start on January 9 and end on February 6.
