As we announced yesterday, 21 drivers are registered to compete in the 4th round of the 2023 calendar of the NASCAR Pinty’s series. this will be the only one in the Maritime provinces while the pilots will be on the track on the Eastbound International Speedway. Among the favorites to challenge the Marc-Antoine Camirand, Treyten Lapcevich, Louis-Philippe Dumoulin, Alex Guénette and others, we find Quebecer Kevin Lacroix who will, as usual, drive the Dodge No.74 wearing the colors of NAPA Synthetic Motor Oil and Valvoline.

Called Pro Line 250, this race will last 250 laps and, after a string of good results since the start of the season, Lacroix is now in second place in the championship, just 17 points behind leader Treyten Lapcevich. The driver from Saint-Eustache will therefore try to get back on the podium for a second time this season.

Last year, he had a good test on the Newfoundland track, before experiencing mechanical problems and being ranked 7th. The three-eighths of a mile oval, located in Avondale, 40 minutes from St. John’s in Newfoundland, is a unique circuit, a little larger than most other ovals visited during the season, but with turns tight which require a technical approach given its slight drop. The circuit is still relatively new to the calendar, having only been introduced during the past season.

“It’s a fairly fast track, so it should go well for us, as it will suit our new oval car perfectly,” explained Kevin Lacroix. “So far we have been very competitive this season, and I firmly believe that we will be able to fight for victory at Avondale. We were a little unlucky on our last visit here, we had mechanical problems, so we will give our all to get the best possible result,” added the 34-year-old driver.

The 10.45am practice session will kick off the event on Saturday. Individual qualifications will be held at 3:20 p.m., then the start of the Pro Line 250 will be at 4:34 p.m. local time. The race will be broadcast live on the TSN+ app and on the American network FloRacing.
