Kenya – Premier League (J12): Gor Mahia still winless
It is an unsuccessful bet for champions Gor Mahia, on matchday 12 of the Kenyan Premier League. After three games in a row without a win, Gor again conceded a 1-1 draw against Nzoia Sugar on Wednesday. A result that does not do the business of the 19 times champions of Kenya who have a difficult start to the season.
The proteges of Gor’s trainer, Mark Harrison, came close to victory on Wednesday in their derby against Nzoia Sugar. The game ended in a 1-1 draw at Sudi Stadium in Bungoma. Gorean forward George Odhiambo opened the scoring following a penalty after Nzoia’s Kevin Juma fouled inside the penalty area. However, Nzoia restored parity in the 58th minute with a close range shot from James Kibande.
While coach Mark Harrison is still fighting Covid-19 in England, Gor Mahia is currently managed by assistant coach Sammy Pamzo Omollo. The result left Gor in seventh place with 19 points in 11 games, while Nzoia remains 16th in the table with eight points in 12 games.
