Kenya – Premier League: After 9 games unbeaten, Homeboyz aims for the title
Homeboyz ended Gor Mahia’s unbeaten streak at Bukhungu Stadium last weekend. However, coach Bernard Mwalala fears his players will get carried away in the victory celebration, forgetting that more fixtures await them, as the club aim for the title.
After Homeboyz won 2-1 over former champion Gor Mahia over the weekend, Mwalala warned of complacency in the extreme, forgetting about the set goal. He said the league is like a marathon that cannot be won with just one win. “We should be focusing on our main goal of winning the league title and it will take a lot of work and commitment to achieve that goal,” said Bernard Mwalala.
“Now that victory has passed in front of us. We have to go fast and focus on our next game against Tusker, who is very fit. This is the match that will determine whether our team is really ready to compete for the title or not, bearing in mind that they are the defending champions, ”added Bernard Mwalala. Kakamega Homeboyz, the only undefeated team in the league so far, shares the lead with KCB with 21 points. Gor Mahia is third with 18 points in nine games.
