After 17 seasons at Juventus, Giorgio Chiellini has confirmed he will leave the Serie A club at the end of the current campaign. The Old Lady has allowed the Italy international to terminate his contract, which was due to expire in 2023, based on a personal request.
Chiellini will join the LAFC
Earlier this week it was reported that Los Angeles FC have offered the legendary Italian defender a contract which will run until the 2023 season of Major League Soccer, but not as a Designated Player. This means the 37-year-old will earn up to $1.65 million per season and it looks like he’ll take the offer.
This means Chiellini will make one final appearance at the Allianz stadium on Monday night when Juventus host Lazio. The latest report from TuttoJuve says the Italian defender is keen to play in Major League Soccer before retiring.
