Josh Donaldson hit two home runs against the Royals

I’m going to ask you a question and I’m going to brag that I already know the answer: Did you like Josh Donaldson when he played for the Toronto Blue Jays?

The Bringer of Rain was the favorite player of many fans and it was only fitting: Donaldson was one of the MLB’s elite at bat, as the MVP title he won in 2015 so aptly proves.

But, since leaving Toronto, he doesn’t seem like the same dominant player he once was. Besides the excellent campaign he had in 2019 with the Indians, Donaldson will not have been as productive as before.

The veteran has now lined up with the Minnesota Twins since 2020 and he’s doing well. Yesterday, he scored two home runs in a game for the first time since August 25, 2019, when he was in Cleveland.

I’m happy for the guy – at 35, Josh Donaldson is probably on his last laps in MLB.

He is currently in his second year of his contract with the Twins and it would be surprising to see him finish signing somewhere when it is over. But, he’ll be able to sleep in peace after taking a step back and realizing he’s been one of the best baseball players in Big League history.
