Josef Newgarden best time – NTT IndyCar Series

After crashing on the first lap of Barber’s race, two-time IndyCar champion Josef Newgarden rebounded with the fastest time in opening practice in St. Petersburg.

On the first lap of the opening race of the season, Josef Newgarden made a mistake and ended his race. The Team Penske driver bounced back from the first practice in St. Petersburg by setting the fastest time. At the wheel of his Dallara n°2, Josef Newgarden set the best time in 60.8029 seconds.

To be honest, I don’t think about it anymore, because it’s too early. From a points perspective it’s not ideal. In an ideal world we would have started with more points, ideally a win. We want to sign a solid result.

Will Power took second place in the session ahead of Colton Herta, Alexander Rossi and Frenchman Simon Pagenaud. The top 5 is held in less than a tenth of a second.

Scott Dixon, Felix Rosenqvist, Scott McLaughlin, Pato Oward and Graham Rahal are in the top 10.

As for the other two Frenchmen in the peloton, Sébastien Bourdais sets the fourteenth fastest time while Romain Grosjean is nineteenth.

As for Jimmie Johnson, he is in last place just over two seconds from the reference time.
