“There is this profile at LAFC that I really like, a profile a bit like Gerson, so if the Brazilian were to leave it would be a good idea to replace him. José Cifuentes is an Ecuadorian who participated in the World Cup with his selection. It’s really a good pick but the downside is that his transfer will be very expensive. Even if he is out of contract in December 2023, his club will ask a lot. He really has the profile of a modern midfielder, he is certainly more interesting offensively than defensively, he projects himself very quickly into the box. Cifuentes scores a lot, he scored 7 goals this season in MLS, and 6 assists. He goes forward quickly, he has a not too bad heading game, a modern player who recovers a lot of balls and who has a good reading of the game. He is not in the same register as Gerson in the protection of ball with his body, he is less in this register, but he is a box-to-box midfielder who goes on races. Efforts for him are not a problem. A good midfielder, the ideal player for me to replace Gerson if he leaves.
