John Terry names club best positioned to win title
Former Chelsea captain John Terry has said his former side have positioned themselves to win the Premier League title this season following Romelu Lukaku’s resignation from Inter Milan.
He stressed that the Belgian was « the only big missing » from the Blues team last season.
According to Blues legend, Thomas Tuchel’s side can now challenge champions Manchester City for the title this season.
Terry, who was part of the Chelsea squad during Lukaku’s first stint at Stamford Bridge, believes the 28-year-old is the missing piece of the puzzle for the Blues to clinch the league title again.
“I think they look great, he’s missing him. I know they won the Champions League last season but probably narrowly missed [on the Premier League] overall because of that I think bringing him in he kind of gives that, he’s already shown that, ”Terry told Sky Sports.
“He also has something to prove at Chelsea, it didn’t work for him last time around, I know Rom and he is very determined to do well. Chelsea are looking great right now and I think they can give Manchester City a boost.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel had said earlier that he was delighted to conclude the signing of the Belgium international this summer, adding that the 28-year-old would bring a completely different dimension to his squad.
Chelsea finished 4th in the Premier League table last season, with Pep Guardiola’s side winning the league title. But the Blues won the Champions League by beating the EPL champions in the final.
