Jets’ Scheifele suspended four games for assault

NEW YORK (June 3, 2021) – Winnipeg Jets forward Mark Scheifele was suspended for four games following his assault on the Montreal Canadiens forward Jake evans in the first game of the second round series between the two teams, played Wednesday, June 2 in Winnipeg, the Department of Player Safety announced today.

If the suspension is not served in full during the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs, it will be completed at the start of the 2021-22 regular season.

The incident occurred at 7:02 pm of the third period. Scheifele received a major penalty for assault and game misconduct on the streak.
