Jehan Daruvala driving an F1 at Silverstone

Jehan Daruvala, current Formula 2 driver, will be driving a Formula 1 car for the first time. He is indeed expected to test last year’s McLaren at Silverstone with the aim of becoming the third Indian to race in motorsport’s premier class.

The junior Red Bull driver, third in the Formula 2 standings and already qualified for a Formula 1 super license, will be driving an F1 on Tuesday and Wednesday. He will have the opportunity to drive last year’s McLaren.

» It has nothing to do with me driving a Formula 1 car next year. »said the F2 driver on Monday.

» But I have the opportunity to be in F1 and do well and if I ever have that opportunity I want to be ready.. »

Jehan Daruvala is Red Bull’s highest-ranked junior driver in F2, but is in his third season and moving up the ranks looks tough for the 23-year-old. In F1, the Red Bull team already has its driver duo since the World champion Max Verstappen and Mexican Sergio Perez have already signed multi-year contracts while sister team AlphaTauri have confirmed Frenchman Pierre Gasly for 2023.
