The environmental candidate for the presidential Yannick Jadot promised access to one hour of sport per day for young people and half an hour for adults, Friday during a trip to a club in Colombes (Hauts-de-Seine) . The MEP went to a five-a-side indoor football club of the « Les Petits pains futsal » association, which works to reintegrate young and old through sport. « Sport and culture are at the heart of our project, » Yannick Jadot, who will present his program on Saturday January 29 in Lyon, told the press. « Health is not just getting vaccinated against Covid, but also that everyone can access sport, » he argued. If elected, « each student will be able to access one hour of sport per day, half an hour for adults ».

He wants an « annual national sports day »

For the first, he wants to « strengthen physical and sports education » at school, according to him « abandoned » by Minister Jean-Michel Blanquer. He intends to invest « in more infrastructure and train battalions of sports educators, promote access to sports licenses », or even create an « annual national sports festival in the spring, like the music festival « .

A budget of 3 billion euros

In total, he wants to increase the sports budget to three billion euros by 2025, against around one billion currently. For adults, half an hour of access to sport will be favored by « the installation of sports equipment in companies », possible thanks to the « redevelopment of offices » under the impetus of telework during the pandemic, a indicated Yannick Jadot.
