Jack Wilshere gives 2 reasons why he wouldn’t take Gareth Bale to Arsenal even on a free transfer
Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has advised the club not to sign free agent Gareth Bale.
The Welsh international has confirmed his departure from Real Madrid after nine seasons in the Spanish capital.
He has been linked with a return to the Premier League but Wilshere believes he shouldn’t join the Emirates.
“I don’t think he’d get a game!” ❌
“If he does, then I think he’d be holding one of the younger players back.”

The 30-year-old was speaking on talkSPORT when asked his opinion on whether the Gunners should sign Bale, to which he replied: ‘No’:
« I look at players who would play in that position and they are young players who have arguably been Arsenal’s best players over the last few years. » And (two), if he does, I think he would stop those players from playing. »
Gareth Bale joined Real Madrid from Tottenham for a then-record fee in the summer of 2013. He enjoyed a highly successful career at the Bernabeu which saw him win 16 major honours.
He boasts a tally of 106 goals and 67 assists in 258 appearances in all competitions for Los Blancos but has struggled to win over the club’s fans.
A Premier League return could be on the cards for the 32-year-old, with MLS clubs reportedly interested in him as well.
Gareth Bale recently played a leading role in Wales’ qualification for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, proving he still has what it takes to make a difference at the top level.
