The 29-year-old Lukaku is on loan from Chelsea and a permanent return to Inter could be difficult as the English outfit seek to recoup the £97.5m they paid the Serie A side.
“Everyone knows what I want. Right now I have to do what is necessary to make Inter win and then we can talk to Chelsea,” Lukaku explained to Sky Sport Italy.
“The objective is to end my career with Anderlecht. I’m almost 30, my son started school here and he plays for the Inter Academy. I’m good, Inter still have the ambition to develop. »
“I want to stay here and do things the right way. I hope to do well with Inter in the next six months, work to the maximum and then at the end we will discuss with Chelsea to find a solution. »
Lukaku said his long-term injury marked the first time he had missed so many games in his career, adding that his home felt like a hospital as he wanted to recover in time for the World Cup.
In Qatar, Lukaku was consoled by assistant coach Thierry Henry and Lukaku said the former French star was the « ideal » candidate to take over after Roberto Martinez’s departure.
“For me, Henry is the next coach of Belgium. There is no doubt, I say it openly: he will be the next coach, said Lukaku. He has the respect of all the players and he has won everything. He knows how to coach, he knows what we have to do. »
“He wants to win and I don’t believe the federation is going to hire a coach who wants to change everything and start from scratch. »
