Mathew Barzal could be in uniform against the Dallas Stars at UBS Arena on Tuesday (7:30 p.m. ET; MSGSN, BSSWX, ESPN+, SN NOW).

The New York Islanders forward trained in the center of Anders Lee and Simon Holmstrom Monday. He was cut from the lineup at the last minute for Friday’s game against the Calgary Flames with a lower-body injury. Barzal has hit the mark in each of his last five games, a streak in which he has scored six goals.

Holmstrom was skating for the first time since sustaining a lower-body injury Dec. 23, when he suffered knee-to-knee contact with Florida Panthers forward Sam Bennett.
“We could bring him in with the squad today and see how it goes for him,” Lambert said. He looked good. »
Adam Pelech also started skating again. The defender, however, will miss a 15th consecutive game due to an injury, the nature of which has not been disclosed.
