With a series win already in their prize pool, Team India management made the dreams of five cricketers come true as K Gowtham, Nitish Rana, Chetan Sakariya, Rahul Chahar and Sanju Samson made their debut for the third and final matchup. ODI against Sri Lanka on Friday. That meant young Ishan Kishan who kicked off his ODI career earlier in the show with a literal bang (read: six) was kicked out of the competition, but it didn’t dampen his morale.

In fact, the cricketer, who recently turned 23, was sitting along the border ropes during the Sri Lankan chase when he decided to share a light moment looking straight at the camera.

It’s hard to describe in words what Kishan was doing, so here’s a video of the hilarious incident that happened in the 28th of the second round.

Getting back to the action on the pitch, three wickets each for spinners Akila Dananjaya and Praveen Jayawickrama followed by half centuries for Avishka Fernando (76) and Bhanuka Rajapaksa (65) helped Sri Lanka to a consolation victory at three wickets in the third ODI, which was reduced to 47 overs one side due to rain. It was Sri Lanka’s first ODI home win over India in nine years.

India’s inexperience took a toll on them as they posted an under-par total of 225. Sri Lanka nearly ruined a comfortable chase towards the end but crossed the line with eight overs to lose. Rahul Chahar was the bowlers’ choice for India, giving SL a late threat with 3 for 54.

India’s sloppy set-up cost them as they managed five takes.
