Interclub competitions 2022-2023: CAF extends the deadline for club commitments

The deadline for sending the names of qualified clubs for the 2022-2023 CAF interclub competitions extended by one month by the African Football Summit Competitions Commission. Scheduled to end on June 30, the registration date for clubs representing the various football federations has now been extended to July 30, 2022.

The joint action of certain federations, carried out in order to bring CAF to review the deadline for sending the lists of clubs to take part in the 2022-2023 interclub competitions (CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup), finally bore fruit. A request for an extension of the deadline for sending the names of the clubs, accepted. Now they have until July 30 to send in club names instead of June 30.

The one-month extension of the commitment deadline for clubs in CAF interclub competition will allow CAF Member Associations to breathe a little and finish their championships in time.

africafootunited.com has learned from a Confederation of African Football source that the leagues that will send club names before June 30 are those that will have already ended. The same source told africafootunited.com that “in the event that the league does not end before the deadline of July 30, the local federation will select the clubs according to what has been agreed in the regulations organizing the league. »

The first player registration period begins on August 1 and continues until the 15 of the same month.
