Inter: Christian Eriksen is back in Milan

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Christian Eriksen landed in Milan on Tuesday morning where he was greeted by Beppe Marotta, Inter’s sporting director.

Victim of a heart attack during the match against Finland at the start of Euro 2020 (June 12), the Danish international underwent surgery and now wears a defibrillator. The former Tottenham player is expected to undergo medical tests to determine if he can do without the device.

FIFA covers Eriksen’s salary

If so, the 29-year-old midfielder will be able to play again with the Italian champions as soon as he is taken out. Otherwise, he will only be able to play in the championships which have another legislation, England and the Netherlands for example. La Gazzetta also points out that FIFA covers Eriksen’s salary and that Inter have taken out insurance relating to the player’s financial worth. Eriksen is also expected to reunite with his teammates and meet in person his new coach, Simone Inzaghi, who was appointed to head Inter in June.
