Indy 500, day 1 – Grosjean takes his marks, Pagenaud satisfied –
The 106th edition of the Indianapolis 500 Miles began on Tuesday May 17 with two free practice sessions. Classified in the second half of the table, the two Frenchmen entered Romain Grosjean (Andretti) and Simon Pagenaud (Meyer Shank Racing) however learned positive lessons from this day.
For the winner of the 2019 edition, it was “a very satisfying day. We found a lot of good things about the car. The car is comfortable over the long stints, which allowed us to see how well the tires held up. I am very happy. Of course, we still have room for improvement to find to be perfect for the race, but we already have a great base to work from.
