Indians fight their way through NFT space
[ad_1]
It’s 2021, and half of the internet is NFT. At the start of the year, the whole world is taking it in. After art houses and auctions, (and billionaires) news organizations and galleries also seem to be joining the trend. Quartz converted an item to NFT, a digital asset that essentially serves as its own certificate of ownership and authenticity. They are not, however, the first. The Associated Press sold his symbolic, non-fungible artwork on March 11 for a hefty sum just eight days before it was auctioned. The artwork, titled « Associated Press Calls 2020 Presidential Election on Blockchain – A View from Outer Space, » sold for around 100 ETH (+ 3.79%) ($ 180,000) , according to NFT OpenSea market data. News agencies are not alone. The first NFT artwork to be auctioned was Christie’s. The first Oscar nominated film to be released as NFT was « Claude Lanzmann: Specters of the Shoah » by Adam Benzine. Jack Dorsey’s first tweet from Twitter was sold as NFT. NFT’s debut album was « When You See Yourself » by Kings of Leon.
So what really, really is an NFT? NFTs are not physical assets but digital properties that exist in the blockchain. An NFT basically symbolizes the ownership of a certain physical item. As it is stored in the blockchain, it is transparent and therefore cannot be copied or stolen. James Murphy, CEO of Future Fallout, writes that just as a concert ticket symbolizes the space ownership of a seat in the concert arena, and a Bitcoin represents the underlying value of digital currency in physical currency. , an NFT symbolizes ownership of an item that has been scanned.
In India, too, celebrities seem to be making inroads with DTV. Here is a look at some of them.
Amitabh Bachchan
Big B is among the first Indian actors to jump on the NFT train. Amitabh Bachchan-themed NFTs will include works of art such as verses from the legendary work of his father Harivansh Rai Bachchan, Madhushala, told by the megastar, stories related to the works of Big B, posters of his films signed by him and some other rare items related to his life converted into digital works of art. Not only that, the auction promoting platform is also asking for more suggestions regarding Bachchan related NFTs.
NFTs will be launched under the umbrella of BeyondLife.club, a conglomerate of Rhiti Entertainment, Singapore, and GuardianLink.io, a code-less NFT exchange platform.
Dinesh Karthik
34 runs were necessary over the last 2 overs. Rubel Hossain was handed the ball to deliver the penultimate. Then came the counter-drummer from India Dinesh Karthik. The tri Nidahas T20 series trophy was Bangladesh to win. But it was not. Hossain was smoked for 22 points by an Indian hitter who had just taken his guard. Karthik returned all of those 22. The equation fell to 12 in 6 and Soumya Sarkar’s face captured the collective nervousness of the defensive team. For a part-time bowler, Sarkar did well most of the time. Demand was now 5% of the final delivery of the series. Karthik logs in and out generously. The bullet crosses the extra deep coverage limit for maximum. “He’s gone for this. Is it going to be super finished or has it gone all the way? He has! It’s amazing from Dinesh Karthik. It’s a six! Sanjay Manjrekar’s voice almost breaks as he and all of India witness one of India’s memorable chases.
Over three years later, the final moments of India’s triumph have been turned into an NFT (Non-Fungible Token), and rightly so, the honors have been returned by Karthik himself.
“It was one of the best times of my life. To bring it out graphically and for people to watch it, not to mention being a part of the whole process was something that I really enjoyed, ”Karthik told CNBC-TV18.
The project to turn the winning moment into animation was led by Karthik with his brother-in-law Saurav Ghoshal during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Rishabh pants
Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant also jumped on the NFT train with the NFT Rario cricket platform. According to Live Mint, Rario, which is the world’s first officially licensed digital cricket collection platform, allows fans to buy and redeem NFTs of their favorite international cricketers and leagues. Panting together will allow Rario to create exclusive digital collectibles of iconic Pant moments on and off the pitch.
Salman khan
The Ek Tha Tiger star also announced his own line of NFTs in October. “Aa raha hoon main, NFTs leke. Salman Khan’s static NFTs arrive on Bollycoin. Stay tuned, bhai log! He wrote on Twitter.
Manish malhotra
Manish Malhotra, known for being a game-changer in the fashion world, has added another feather to his hat by paving the way for the fashion industry in the NFT universe.
Making him the first designer to lead the industry in this new revolution, Manish Malhotra has partnered with WazirX NFT Marketplace and FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week and created 5 exclusive fashion NFTs. Fashion NFTs included Archival Diaries – a photo of Lisa Ray from 1998, a gif of an illustrious sketch of a chikankari ensemble, a video titled Reminiscing Runways from 2013, a skit titled Illuminous Showstopper featuring a saree from the film Yeh Jawaani Hain Deewani.
It’s not just NFTs – Bollywood rapper Raftaar announced in July that he would accept cryptocurrency instead of real currency as a performance stamp, becoming the first Indian artist to do so. Raftaar said he was a big fan of blockchain technology and accepting payments using the same technology was like a dream come true for him.
