It was only three months ago, already at the International Motor Speedway. On May 15, Romain Grosjean had experienced a real resurrection by climbing on his first podium since 2015 (Belgian GP). The day before, the survivor of the Bahrain flames also had his first pole for ten years (GP Turkey). Such a result in his third IndyCar race was an undeniable sensation, even if the Genevan had already sown promises in Barber, then in St Petersburg. Three months later, Romain was once again on the second step of the podium, but this time it seemed to fit into a certain natural order of things. Because after only a few weeks of IndyCar, the ex-F1 driver has already accustomed us to being among the fastest. Since Indy’s first GP, he has placed his No. 51 in the Fast6 three times, each time in urban (the two rounds of Detroit, and Nashville), and signed two Top10 on the road (5th at Road America , 7th in Mid-Ohio). On Saturday evening, on arrival, Romain Grosjean was obviously happy, surrounded by his family with whom he is spending a beautiful American summer, however his expression was undoubtedly less ecstatic than in May.
