The association 2 hands lights organized his Football World Cup », Saturday July 16, 2022, at the Gilles-Degenève stadium, in Beaumont sur Oise (Val d’Oise).
It raises funds for humanitarian missions in Mali, such as the construction of wells, schools or agricultural land for families in need.
Twelve teams involved
The sporting event was organized as an international competition. With twelve teams of about ten players each time representing a country of your choice (France, Hungary, Algeria, Turkey or Cameroon).
The participation fee of €50 per team and the profits from the refreshment bar were donated to Mali.
Under a blazing sun and encouraged by around fifty spectators, the participants faced off on the half-court in a competitive but friendly spirit.
“We are here for the good cause, in the right atmosphere, we must keep an irreproachable state of mind”, says Ousmane Kanté, 26, one of the presidents of the Lumières de 2 mains association.
For this first edition, it was the Fennecs of Algeria who won the tournament by beating Qatar 3 goals to 1.
