Ice hockey: Timo Meier scorer, passer and winner in the NHL

Timo Meier particularly stood out on Friday evening. He scored a goal (the first, in the 11th minute of play) and delivered an assist (2-0 in the 27th minute) during the victory of his San Jose Sharks team on the Anaheim Ducks ice (6- 1). Meier got the second star of the game. He now has 27 points (14 goals/13 assists) in 30 games this season.

The New Jersey Devils lost 4-6 at home to the New York Islanders. It was Nico Hischier who opened the scoring in the 6th minute (his 12th goal of the season to which must be added 16 assists), but the Devils were subsequently overtaken. The two assists of Jonas Siegenthaler (on the 3-6 in the 43rd and the 4-6 in the 54th) will thus have been useless. Lined up for almost half an hour, goalkeeper Akira Schmid for his part stopped 13 of the 15 shots he had to face.

Philipp Kurashev also delivered an assist, which did not prevent his Chicago Blackhawks team from losing 1-3 at home to the Winnipeg Jets.

JJ Moser (Arizona) and Tim Berni (Columbus) also had playing time, 20’35 » and 15’36 » respectively.
