CP Bern announces that it has signed 29-year-old striker Sven Bärtschi, who has signed a three-year contract, i.e. until the end of the 2024/25 season, and who therefore returns to Switzerland after twelve years passed on the North American continent.

Trained in Langenthal, Sven Bärtschi left for the United States in 2010, at the age of 18. Aligned one season in the WHL junior league, he was drafted in the first round (13th position) by the Calgary Flames. In the NHL, Bärtschi successively wore the jersey of the Flames, the Vancouver Canucks and the Vegas Golden Knights (294 matches/138 points including 66 goals). Last season, he was aligned in the AHL with the Henderson Silver Knights (46 games/29 points).

Bärtschi therefore makes his return to the country. « It has always been my goal to one day continue my career in Switzerland, » said Bärtschi. Now the time has come for me to come home. I learned a lot in the NHL, and I am delighted to be able to bring my baggage back to Bern, and thus be able to help my new team. I am very pleased with the challenge offered to me by Bern.”

There is no doubt that, on the side of the PostFinance Arena, we are not less delighted.
