Ice hockey – Roman Josi continues his NHL momentum


Roman Josi is definitely in good shape at the start of the NHL championship. Two days after scoring 4 points (1 goal and 3 assists) in the Nashville Predators’ 5-2 victory over Minnesota, the Bernese defender split two assists on Tuesday night, actively participating in his team’s victory against the San Jose Sharks (3-1). He gave Matt Duchene 1-0 in the 2nd minute and Filip Forsberg 2-0 in the 33rd. In seven matches, Josi has scored nine points (including three goals).

For the Sharks, striker Timo Meier continued his momentum: he scored his team’s only goal in the 52nd minute. But that wasn’t enough for the San Jose franchise to snatch a point. Still, Meier has scored in each of his outings (four goals and five assists in six matches).

The New Jersey Devils lost at home to the Calgary Flames (3-5). Nico Hischier skated for 22’35  » (neutral balance), his teammate Jonas Siegenthaler for 14’50  » (also neutral balance).

Finally, Kevin Fiala’s Minnesota Wild won 3-2 in Vancouver. The Saint-Welsh winger, who played for 16’51  », did not register on the scoring list (record: -1).

The NHL on Tuesday fined the Chicago Blackhawks $ 2 million and two executives left the franchise after an investigation pointed to their immediate inaction on allegations of sexual assault against a former coach.

The NHL decided to sanction the club, after the publication of an independent report on these allegations which had been made to its management in May 2010, when the team was playing in the Stanley Cup, the NHL Championship final, which ‘she would eventually win.

The Blackhawks immediately announced that President Stan Bowman and vice-president in charge of hockey operations Al MacIsaac had left the club.
