Ice hockey – NHL (play-offs): Las Vegas returns to Montreal

Las Vegas is back and is not let down. After gleaning the first game of the series on their home soil, the Nevada players went on to lose two in a row and let the Canadiens go to the top of the series. But before returning to their land, the Golden Knights were able to equalize at the right time in overtime before a Game 5 which promises to be already decisive. After two very narrow losses by a goal difference each time, the Vegas players have this time tipped overtime on their side. This meeting has moreover took a long time to emerge with no goal scored in this first period especially marked by the repeated and sensational saves of Robin Lehner, the Swedish goalkeeper from Vegas, author of an XXL performance with 27 saves during the meeting. The Canadians opened the scoring at the very end of the second half, after a counterattack and a long pass from Nick Suzuki to Paul Byron (39th), who did not miss the opportunity to give the advantage to his team.

A second extension in a row

Dominant until the third period, the Canadians were however joined by the intermediary of Brayden Mcnabb (51st), author of his first goal in these play-offs, at a crucial moment for his franchise. Perfect equality at the end of regulation time and therefore extension between the two teams. A short extension, however, since after two minutes, the Golden Knights scored the decisive goal thanks to Quebecer Nicolas Roy, who took advantage of a shot thrown into his feet by the Canadiens goalie to deliver this oh-so-important victory for the Vegas franchise.
