In the only game of the night in the NHL play-offs, Las Vegas defeated Minnesota 6-2 at home in Game 7 of the series to join Colorado Avalanche in the second round.
It goes for Las Vegas! For the third time in four years of existence, the Golden Knights will see the second round of the play-offs, after their victory on Friday against Minnesota. As they led 3-1 in that series, the Nevada players were pushed to a Game 7 by the Wild, and they won it 6-2 at home, in front of 12,156 spectators. The score was 2-2 after 25 minutes of play, after goals from Mattias Janmark (6th) and Nicolas Hague (23rd) for Las Vagas, and Zach Parise (17th) and Kirill Kaprizov (25th) for Minnesota. But the Golden Knights then hit the accelerator, thanks to a Max Pacioretty (28th), Zach Whitecloud (34th), and Mattias Janmark who offered his second and third goals of the evening in the 53rd and 57th minutes, for the first hat-trick of his career in the play-offs.
And now, let’s go to Colorado!
Las Vegas goaltender Marc-André Fleury made 18 saves and Minnesota’s Cameron Talbot 28. As of this Sunday, the players from Las Vegas will play in Denver the Match 1 of their second round against the Colorado Avalanche (the franchise of the only French competitor in these 2021 play-offs, Pierre-Edouard Bellemare). A series that promises to be tight, because in the regular season, the two teams each won four games of their eight confrontations. Objective for the Golden Knights: play their third Conference final after 2018 and 2020!
