Carolina is definitely not joking. On the night of Wednesday to Thursday, as part of the NHL play-offs, Game 2 of the first round of the Eastern Conference, the Hurricanes again quietly beat the Boston Bruins (5-2). In the first period, the locals had already made the break, through Fast and Aho. The latter scored twice at the start of the second period. To close this new river score for the Hurricanes, Niederreiter also went there with his double, at the end of the second and third periods. Two goals having answered the only two scored by the visitors, thanks to Bergeron, also author of a double. The Boston Bruins must react to stay alive in this series.

Title holders react

Also in this Eastern Conference, the double title holder, namely the Tampa Bay Lightning, showed that he had the resource by equalizing against the Toronto Maple Leafs (1-1). A second match won 3-5. The visitors even led 1-5, thanks to Hedman, Perry, Kucherov, Hagel and Point. While at 0-2, Bunting had reduced the mark. At the very end of the last period, the locals scored through Marner and Kerfoot, but this awakening proved far too late.

Minnesota and Edmonton have fun

In the Western Conference, Minnesota also reacted well, after the loss of the first game. Against the Saint Louis Blues, the Wild largely won (6-2). At the very beginning of the second period, the premises were already clearly sheltered, thanks to Eriksson, author of a double, Gaudreau and Kaprizov. In the final period, Kaprizov scored two more goals, to match the two scored by Kyrou and Tarasenko, in the second and third periods. Finally, in this same conference, Edmonton also set the record straight, and with style. Against the Los Angeles Kings, the Oilers had fun (6-0), to tie at 1-1. Three goals were scored in the second period, thanks to Draisaiti, Nurse and McLeod, then the last three in the final period, through Kane, author of a double, and Puljujarvi.
