The player has agreed to discuss the possible transfer of Romelu Lukaku: « That would take us back to a few years ago when we used to play against each other, when he played at West Brom and I at Aston Villa, or when he played at Everton. It was great playing against him because I really appreciate him as a person and as a player. It would be nice if he came back.«

He also spoke about his new coach, Patrick Vieira: « I think the momentum has been really good, really positive. We’re all in the same boat. We all want to do well under his orders. I’m sure he can help us. He wants us to play higher on the field, he wants us to get the ball higher too. He wants us to create opportunities. Because to win matches you have to create opportunities and convert them.«

Finally, Benteke, came back on his contract extension: « I feel good, it was important for me to be fixed before the Euro, to be able to be totally focused. That way, I knew where I was going to be after the Euro, there was no longer any doubt. I am 100% dedicated to Crystal Palace.«
