Hugo Besson officially registers for Draft 2022
Two months before the 2022 Draft, registrations continue and, after Hugo Benitez, Ousmane Dieng or Matthew Strazel, it is the turn of Frenchman Hugo Besson to register for the event, scheduled for June 23.
At 20, the tricolor « combo-guard » will thus try to carve out a place in the first round, probably thanks to the Draft Combine, while he is currently expected in the middle of the second round. He was playing this season in the Australian championship, with the New Zealand Breakers, where he averaged nearly 14 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists in 27 minutes of play (39% on shots, 31% at 3-pts and 80% in throws).
Like Ousmane Dieng, with whom he teamed up this year, Hugo Besson therefore follows in the footsteps of LaMelo Ball, Josh Giddey and even RJ Hampton, other players who also passed through the NBL before the NBA.
Hugo Besson has declared for the NBA draft, his agent Bouna Ndiaye told ESPN. The 6’5 French combo guard had an outstanding season in the Australian NBL with the New Zealand Breakers, averaging 14 points, 4 rebounds, 2.5 assists in 27 minutes. Potential first round pick. pic.twitter.com/R8mphGYnMN
