Huesca win a month later and curb Burgos aspirations

MADRID, Mar. 18 ( –

Huesca returned to winning ways in the SmartBank League on Friday after beating Burgos 1-0 in the opener of Matchday 32 with an own goal from Miguel Rubio midway through the first half, stopping the aspirations of the Castilian formation in the play-offs.

At Alcoraz, the Xisco team took three golden points so as not to be in difficulty and to take some air in the middle of the table. The own goal came after a cross from Pablo Martínez that Rubio tried to clear in a hurry. That goal was enough for Huesca to move up to twelfth place after almost a month without a win.

For its part, the team of Julián Calero will remain in tenth place and will see their hopes of reaching the playoffs the year of their return to the silver category of Spanish football dashed. Burgos remain seven points clear of promotion pending results for the rest of the day.
