Despite the title of champion of France won last season (the 8th in 10 years), the failed course of PSG in the Champions League resulted in the dismissal of Pochettino and the installation of Christophe Galtié, the team’s first French coach, since Laurent Blanc. The Parisian club entered a new era this summer, with more rigor and less glitter, supervised by the new director of football, Luis Campos. If many things have changed within the club, the eleven type of PSG has changed very little. Only the Portuguese Vitinha (who signed until 2027), bought 41.5 million euros from FC Porto, takes place in this composition. He will be in balance at the post with Renato Sanches, for another signing of the summer.
687 M€ the valuation of this collective on the transfer window
This typical PSG collective is the one given by the newspaper The Team, at the start of this 2022-2023 season. Adding the market value of the eleven associated players, this Parisian collective peaks at €687.5 million, an average of around €62 million per head. The two Brazilians Marquinhos (2024) and Neymar (2026) are the closest. In this eleven, the two oldest, Messi and Sergio Ramos, are out of contract in a year. The valuation of this collective could however rise, by replacing the Spanish defender with rookie Nordi Mukiele, bought 12 million euros from Leipzig. The latter also has, with Vitinha, the longest contract within the Parisian workforce.
Mbappé, the most bankable player in Ligue 1
Unsurprisingly, the highest rated player in PSG, even in the championship, is none other than Kylian Mbappé, by far. Tempted by Real Madrid this summer, the French striker finally decided to extend to Paris until 2025, with the aim of finally winning the club’s first C1. Last season, the Prince of Bondy splashed Ligue 1 with all his class, finishing top scorer and passer, a performance never before achieved in the history of the championship.
