BMW has presented the livery of its M Hybrid V8 hypercar for IMSA 2023.
IMSA is a North American prototype racing championship. BMW will participate in 2023 with the BMW M Hybrid V8 and presented the livery of its car. It was at the Petersen Museum in Los Angeles that the Bavarian brand presented its car.
We find here the colors dedicated to Motorsport with in particular the letter M visible at the back of the prototype. » LDesign elements have been deconstructed to form what might at first glance appear to be an abstract triangular pattern on the BMW M Hybrid V8, but viewed from the side, the M logo fits perfectly. – M rebuilt, if you will explained Michael Scully who heads the BMW Group Designworks. The grille also incorporates the famous nostrils found on most production BMWs.
The pilots revealed
The titular pilots were also revealed, they are Connor de Phillippi, Nick Yellolly, Philipp Eng and Augusto Farfus. Their first race will be the 24 Hours of Daytona, January 28-29, 2023.
In 2024, BMW will also join the WEC, the world endurance championship whose most famous race is the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
