Heat vs. 76ers score: Joel Embiid helps lead Philadelphia to Game 3 win over Miami in return to lineup

Well, we’ve got a series. With Joel Embiid back in action, the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Miami Heat 99-79 in Game 3 of their second-round matchup on Friday, trimming Miami’s series lead to 2-1 heading into Game 4 on Sunday.

Embiid wasn’t his best, but he was a massive presence on both ends in finishing 18 points and 11 rebounds. Danny Green and Tyrese Maxey, with 21 points apiece, were terrific, and James Harden chipped in 17 points as a game-high plus-27.

On the other end, Jimmy Butler led the charge for Miami by scoring 33 points, nine assists and two rebounds but he did not receive the type of assistance that Embiid did as Tyler Herro was the only other Heat player to eclipse the double-digit plateau , finishing with 14 dots.
