he resigned from Brazil and will play for Italy
After the severe sanction imposed by the British government which forced him to leave Chelsea and begin his sale process, Roman Abramovich has no intention of stepping away from the world of football.
As he goes through the process of selling Les Bleus and transferring them to a new owner, the Russian billionaire plans to acquire a new team. It is the Goztepe of the Turkish Super League.
According to that country’s Fanatik newspaper, Abramovich has already started the process to take over this humble team which is currently in the relegation zone, occupying the number 18 position, with eight games remaining.
Goztepe is an institution founded in 1925 and its greatest achievements were two Turkish Cup titles (1969 and 1970), a Turkish Super Cup (1970) and a third place in the Turkish Super League (1971).
Currently, Argentinian Franco Di Santo is part of the squad, which was oddly under Abramovich’s command at Chelsea in the 2008/09 season.
