Only sixth in the driver standings, Lewis Hamilton is having a season far from his standards. While the championship leader, Max Verstappen, is heading straight for a second world crown, the Briton wants to set a goal with his Mercedes team: he wants to beat Ferrari in the constructors’ standings.
Our aim is to try and get second place in the constructors’ championship because that has a huge impact on everyone at the factory. These next six races we will be on the maximum attack. We have nothing to lose, we’re just going to give it our all.

With 35 points behind 6 races from the end of the championship, this objective could be achieved by the German team. However, Lewis Hamilton does not want to put pressure on his team.
There are six races left, so there are six opportunities and we will try to win. But if we don’t, I don’t think it’s the end of the world.
