Haise’s response to interest from Brighton

Franck Haise, coach of Lens, has kicked in touch on the interest of Brighton to replace Graham Potter, appointed on the bench of Chelsea. He does not hide, however, that this acts as recognition.

The « Farmers League » does not leave English football so indifferent. According to The Guardian, Brighton are looking to Ligue 1 – or the ‘Farmers’ Championship according to mocking English fans – to find a replacement for Graham Potter, who left on the Chelsea bench. Franck Haise, coach of Lens, would indeed be in a short-list of three names in the company of the Italian Roberto De Zerbi (free since his departure from Shakhtar Donetsk) and the Norwegian Kjetil Knutsen (Bodø / Glimt) favorite bookmakers.

The French technician responded… in English to this interest, this Friday at a press conference: « No comment. »

Relaunched on how he lived this notoriety across the Channel, Haise admitted that it flattered her. « It’s like the players who are solicited, he explained. It obviously has a value. The first value is the work. In the same way that I was asked to take the team Lens pro, it was a recognition of the work I was doing with the reserve team. I am especially here, at this moment, to talk about our match in Nantes. »

Sunday in Loire-Atlantique (5:05 p.m., 8th day of Ligue 1), the Sang et Or will try to confirm their excellent start to the season which takes them to 3rd place (two points behind PSG and OM). This new whirlwind start confirms the two previous fine years finished in 7th place (2020-2021, 2021-2022).

Haise had been promoted from reserve to the first team – then in Ligue 2 – to replace Philippe Montanier in February 2020. He had managed and won two games before the championship was halted due to the coronavirus crisis. A few weeks later, the FFF had ratified the classification and validated the promotion of Racing in the elite.
